Elders Should Have a Definitive Plan to Disciple New Elders
When the house church has the plan to replicate every year, there should be a plan to disciple new elders. Sometimes, a new elder and a seasoned elder will stay at the current house church, and a new elder and a seasoned elder will start the new house church.
Here are some ideas on how to train new elders:
1. Allow elders-in-training to lead the teaching time at the weekly gathering.
2. Have a monthly gathering of elders and elders-in-training for a time of deeper accountability.
3. Go through the elder qualifications in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, encouraging each other to remain faithful.
